It is a nice picture. You really got at that place.
I am sorry. But it is not the coconut palm. It is the toddy palm. The man is picking the milk of the toddy palm. Unlike the coconut palm, the toddy palm, which grows in the tropical region only, has both female and male kinds.
The man in the picture is picking the milk of toddy palm from the male type. The milk from the male toddy makes the consumer get a hangover. But it is healthy for us to drink a little amount (one pot of the milk as in the figure). It will let the heat from your body out. The milk form the female toddy is sweet. We use this milk to make sort of snack called "htan lyet" in our language.
I was born in the middle myanmar. We have our own toddy on our farm. I think the photographer also saw some kinds of coconut in our country. Please make it different between the toddy and coconut palm.
I noticed that too. I'm quite into tropical flora actually nd, of course, the coconut palm has a feather shaped leaf, doesn't it? Do you know what the actual botanical name for the Toddy Palm is? Thanks
I've just checked it out my tropical plants of Asia book, and it's official name is the Palmyra Palm. There's lots of them in Cambodia too, often just standing solitary or in groups of three or four, as if having convened for a meeting (OK, I'm cribbing off Joseph Conrad there)

Dear Thein M. Htike,
Thank you for the comment. I have amended my mistake. Botany was never my strongest subject.
I have just returned back from Myanmar for my third visit. You can see my new photography at http://themystictraveller.com/Myanmar/index.html
Bright Blessings,
